Goiana (pronounced IPA: [gojɐnɐ] listen) is a coastal municipality in the state of Pernambuco, located in the Northeast. Its population in 2009 was 74,424 inhabitants, [7] thus having the second largest population in the Forest Zone, the largest of its micro (Zona da Mata Norte) and the 19th of his state. Goiás is located in the northeastern state, with its headquarters to thirteen feet high, bordering the state of Paraiba, being 62 km from Recife (state capital), 51 km from Joao Pessoa (capital of the neighboring state) and 2,187 km from Brasilia (federal district).
