The City Built in the heyday of mining in the region, a time of great wealth, Sheets was known as the Diamond Capital. Registered by the National Historic Landmark since 1973, the town preserves its colonial architecture of the late nineteenth century. With the completion of mining and the creation of the Chapada Diamantina National Park, tourism has become a new source of development for the region. Main destination of the Chapada Diamantina, Sheets has infrastructure with capacity to serve tourists from all over the world. Has the airport is 20 km from the town, two thousand beds officers of various types of lodging, guides and agencies, regional cuisine, national and international Internet and all mobile phone signals. To find the attractions, travel agencies organize hiking trails that cut through the park and charter trips for the more distant locations. Also accredited guides can be hired who are able to present the appeal. To rest of the rides, the city has several types of accommodation such as hotels, inns, hostels or campsites. To eat, there are good typical Bahian dishes on the menu (such as cobble banana), plus options of Brazilian and international cuisine. Any time is indicated to visit Sheets and region, just note the preference of the tourist, if you prefer more heat, more water, more cold, more flowers, more frequent periods or less tourists ... depends on each one.
