The City Built in the heyday of mining in the region, a time of great wealth, Sheets was known as the Diamond Capital. Registered by the National Historic Landmark since 1973, the town preserves its colonial architecture of the late nineteenth century. With the completion of mining and the creation of the Chapada Diamantina National Park, tourism has become a new source of development for the region. Main destination of the Chapada Diamantina, Sheets has infrastructure with capacity to serve tourists from all over the world.
